In comparison to a conventional sponge, chenille wash mitts are made from plush synthetic materials that act to bury impurities and contaminants deep in the fibers--instead of on the surface that makes contact with your vehicle's finish. Additionally, chenille fabric is extremely absorbent and can hold many times its weight in [soapy] water.
